Assignment 2 (10 pages):
Research Paper
The Research Paper is a general argumentative research paper. You should:
Explain the phenomenon that is “cyberbullying” and make an argument as to whether it is
a unique behavior that demands its own set of policies and attention. In short, is
cyberbullying a unique behavior or is it merely an extension of traditional offline
bullying?
You may consider/incorporate the following prompts in your Term Research Paper: What
is “cyberbullying?” Is it merely an extension of traditional offline bullying? If yes, does it
deserve its own research, policy/law, and attention? Is the panic about cyberbullying
adequate, overrated, or underrated? Is cyberbullying offending and victimization different
across different demographic groups (e.g., race/ethnicity, age, gender/sex, occupation)?
Why should we be concerned about cyberbullying, if at all? What are some tangible
actions individuals (e.g., victims, bystanders, law enforcement, teachers, schools, nurses,
private/public organizations) can take to reduce and mitigate cyberbullying behaviors?
