You will submit a Literature Review of four (4) articles. You will need to have the articles approved before you begin writing your review. Just email me the link to the article and I will approve it for you. Be sure the four articles are easily accessible through the UHD library. This means the articles are either located in paper format in the library or are available electronically through JSTOR or some other database. Remember, you need peer-reviewed articles.
Remember the goal of a literarure review is to demonstrate familiarity with a body of knowledge and establish credibility. Of course, you are just submitting four articles that you have reviewed; if we didn’t have time constraints, you would review many more articles!
In a literature reivew, you will identify key concepts or variables in the study, methods of data collection, measurement, and findings of the article you review. This summary should be about 1 1/2 pages in length. So when combined, the entire literature review will about 5-6 pages total. If you get one summary complete, I am happy to look at a draft of it to make sure you are on the right track to complete the entire literature review. You will also need a title page, an abstract, and a reference page.
One way to see what a literature review looks like is to look at a peer-reviewed journal article. All peer-reviewed articles have a section that is the literature review. And it is just that…a review of the literature.
Your topic will be Domestic Violence. So, you will perform a review of the literature on domestic violence. Again, the articles must be published within the last 10 years and be peer-reviewed. You can focus on one area within the topic of domestic violence, say DV and dating, or DV and drug use. All four articles will be on this topic and will flow as one paper.
