The Outline and Annotated Bibliography assignment is in three parts:
Part 1: Compose a one-page outline (250–350 words) on a topic that you have chosen from the list
below. The outline contains a thesis statement and describes how your paper will be
organized, based on course readings (& if relevant, the “Food, Inc.” documentary).
Part 2: You are to provide an annotated bibliography of one (1) source you have found using the
library. Annotation means “a note added by way of comment or explanation” (Merriam-Webster
dictionary). The “annotation” consists of a paragraph of four to five sentences explaining
1. How the source relates to your paper topic;
2. An evaluation of the source: Are you agreeing or disagreeing with the source’s
argument?
Please note that the annotation is in addition to the page count of the outline (i.e., one-page outline
plus the annotated bibliography entry).
