As we research Virtue Ethics we can see that they project attributes that we want law enforcement personnel to possess. In this week’s 3-5 page short paper:
First provide some of what you believe are core values that law enforcement personnel should possess.
Second, read the recent article from the pdf link below regarding an ethics complaint filed against a police officer for filing a false report. The officer was found to have violated the state’s conflict of interest laws.
Answer these questions:
1. What aspects, if any, of the six pillars did the officer violate? Explain your answer.
2. How does a public report and articles in the press about this officer impact the public’s view of police?
NOTE: Please remember the facts are not changeable as these were found by the State Ethics Commission so please do not speculate as to whether there were other factors that may have been present.
