The National Incident Management System (NIMS) focuses on five major components in accordance with the principles of flexibility, standardization, and unity of effort to achieve these priorities. The components are listed below:

command and management, and
ongoing maintenance and management.
For this assignment, you will write an essay in which you must address the components listed below.
After conducting any further research on NIMS that you may need, begin your essay with an introduction that explains the purpose of NIMS in your own words.
Provide a brief analysis for each of the NIMS components listed above.
Ensure you address how each component supports incident response across all mission areas (prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery). Give a real-world example from your research to illustrate the support of each component.
Explain how the three guiding principles listed above are manifested in each component. Give a real-world example from your research that exemplifies each manifestation that you have explained.
Your essay must be a minimum of two pages in length, not counting the title or reference pages. You must use at least three sources to support your essay. All sources used must have citations and references in APA Style.
