Provide a brief summary of the film/case/peer review article/documentary and include your views and analysis. What are the main issues presented? Provide an overview of who is involved from the criminal justice system from police, prosecutors, courts to jail/prison. Who is impacted the most? I recommend you frame your reflections on one or two major themes of your choice. A good review does two things in my opinion. First, a review helps the reader decide on whether to watch the movie/read the article or not. Second, it opens room for discussion when a critical eye is applied. You must be analytical and incorporate the knowledge from class readings and your overall educational experience at John Jay in your review. Feel free to personally reflect on this source/issue. As emerging criminal justice professionals it is important to discuss criminal justice issues from a critical perspective and learn how to challenge existing knowledge.
